Abraham Lincoln Vignette Color Postal Cover Stamped
“Whatever our Politics, the Constitution must be sustained.” Beardless President Lincoln (Walcott 211).
Blue vignette Portrait of Abraham Lincoln in red & blue oval with American Flags, 3c Stamp (Scott-65), Fine, is tied on this Cover to Farmington, Conn. by a light Town Circular Date Stamp, exceptionally clean & attractive, Choice Very Fine. (Cataloged by Dr. James Milgram as AL-131 in Abraham Lincoln Illustrated Envelopes and Letter Paper 1860-1865). This design employs a great slogan with flags, drums, and cannon balls surrounding the Commander-in-Chief’s portrait. Postal-used specimens are considered quite scarce; this specimen is truly handsome.
