A Pair of Cast Iron and Wood Hall's Excelsior Mechanical Banks Manufactured by J. & E. Stevens Co., ca. 1869, Pull the knob at the front of the door. This causes the cashier to rise up out of the top of the bank. Place a coin on the desk and the weight of the coin causes the figure to fall back down and deposit the coin into the bank.
Dimensions: h: 5 x w: 4 x d: 4 1/2 in.
Provenance: The Collection of Mr. James N. Seidelle.

Condition

Note condition: chip to the roof, as well as areas of paint loss, wear, grime, age and new paint. Please see photographs.
