A BAY AND A GREY HUNTER IN A LANDSCAPE

The horses depicted belonged to Thomas Watson, 3rd Earl of Rockingham (1715-1746). After being educated at Eton and Lincoln's Inn, Lord Rockingham served as MP for Canterbury from 1741-45 and Lord Lieutenant of Kent 1741-46.
