Chinese Shark Skin Ceremonial Saber, 19th c. Qing Dynasty, an Shark Skin Ceremonial saber and scabbard, Qianlong mark, the elongated 'S'-shaped saber, intricately open carved in relief with Dragons patterns, the opposing end carved with stylized scrolling lotus twigs in dragons-shaped patterns and embellished with an intricate silver sword-guard separating the slender blade, cast in relief with similar motifs.
Having steel blade Marked near the hilt, one side with the Four Archaic characters, QianLong Reign Period. The blade indented on each side with double long grooves, adorned with open carved coin-patterns in gilt, tapering to the gently upturned tip.
