The present terracotta figure from Agrigento dates from the 6th or 5th century BC. It represents the goddess Demeter seated on a throne. Demeter is considered the goddess of fertility and the seasons. The figure is characterized by a highly stylized, archaic style.
The figure is in very good condition, showing only the lightest signs of wear. It is hollow worked and shows a drilling hole to the underside (for analysis). The height is 22 cm. (cko)
