Description

After Heywood Hardy (British, 1843-1933), hand colored engraving by T.B. Appleton, and published in London in 1889. Engraving depicts a young woman fallen onto the lap of an older gentlemen in a posture of apology, with a younger man standing beside and two horses nearby being tended by a fourth figure. Inscribed within the plate below the image "Forgiven", "London Published Sept 1st 1883 by JP Mendosa", lower left "Painted by Heywood Hardy" and lower right "Engraved by TB Appleton". Framed 34.5" x 43.5", unframed sight size 24.5" x 34".
