An exceptionally elegant, rare pair of bowls
The pair of bowls by Thomas Harper II were created in 1794 and features a simple design. The bowls are of slightly curved, rectangular shape with rounded corners and scalloped edges each raised on a profiled foot. Each bowl bears an engraved family crest with the banner ‘Manu Forti’ (With a strong hand) on one side wall.
Both bowls are hallmarked on the side with the maker's mark ‘TH’ for Thomas Harper II, the London town mark, the sterling standard mark, the date letter ‘t’ (1834) and the duty mark (George III).
Both pieces are in very good condition with light signs of age and wear. The dimensions are 9.5 x 16.5 x 11.5 cm, the weight is approx. 1,106 g. (tfa)
