High-quality longcase clock from London in a very good condition
This elegant longcase clock was made around 1790 in London. It is fitted with a brass movement with lever escapement as well as two weight pulls above strings and a half-hour striking mechanism on bell. The running duration is approx. 8 days. Furthermore, the timepiece is equipped with the silent function āstrike-silentā, calendar function, small second and a brass pendulum. The gold-plated and richly decorated brass dial with delicately worked floral brass applications has silver chapter rings and displays Roman hours and Arabic numbers. It is signed āKenth Maclennan, Londonā and shows open worked blued steel hands. Above six oāclock, the calendar display is positioned. The case is made of flamed mahogany wood. A glazed door covers the watch head, which is flanked by fluted columns with brass applications. The top bears the perforated sound outlets and is decorated with two globular brass top pieces. Two weights and one key belong to the longcase clock.
