This romantic bracket-clock designed in Louis Quinze style was presumably made at the end of the 19th century in France or Switzerland. It is fitted with a large rectangular spring powered brass movement with fuse with cord as well as a lever escapement and a one week movement. The beautiful clock strikes the half hour on a bell. The brass pendulum is attached with a string suspension. For the display of the roman hours and the Arabic minutes, 24 enamel cartouches encircle the embellished gold-plated brass enameled dial with brass hands. In the center the dial is inscribed with ‘JULIEN / LE ROY’. Grey-green colored wooden case and top part are painted with floral ornaments. The case is triple glazed and has two doors. Furthermore it is ornamented with gold-plated floral brass applications, feet and top in the shape of rocailles. Included is a case key and a key for movement and bell.

The bracket-clock is in a very good condition with signs of age and wear. The dial as well as two cartouches have been restored. Some cracks are visible in the enamel of some cartouches. In places the paint shows craquelure and flaking. The case dimensions are approx. 79 x 36 x 16 cm. During in house testing the clock was fully functional. Long term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed.
