Description

English, last quarter 19th century. A hand colored engraving titled 'Vive L'Empereur' after Francois Flameng (French, 1856-1923) engraved by A. Boulard, published in 1899. Engraving depicts an intense battle scene during the Napoleonic Wars with soldiers on horseback and on foot, canons firing, fallen soldiers all around, and a smoky sky above. Framed 39" x 50.5", unframed sight size 21.75" x 33".
