Continental, late 19th/ early 20th century. A collection of four hand colored engravings after those done by Francesco Bartolozzi (Italian, 1727-1815) after the paintings by Giuseppe Zocchi (Italian, Florence 1711–1767). Originally published in Venice, Italy by Joseph Wagner (Italian, 1706-1780) in 1761. From a series of twelve months, this collection comprises of "Luglio (July)" which depicts figures scattered about a waterside scene in various stages of repose and play, inscribed lower left "Zocchi Inven" and lower right "F. Bartolozzi Incid Appo Wagner Venezia"; "Agosto (August)" which depicts figures standing and working outside a village dwelling with mountains in the background and chickens in the yard, inscribed bottom left "Zocchi Inven" and bottom right "F. Bartolozzi Incid Appo Wagner Venezia"; "Settembre (September)" which depicts male and female figures within a forest setting apparently picking and sorting fruit, possibly grapes, with a donkey carrying a load on his back toward a structure in the distance, inscribed bottom left "Zocchi Inven" and bottom right "Bartolozzi Scul. appo Wagner in Venezia Con Privileg"; and "Ottobre (October)" which depicts male and female figures along with dogs set beneath sparse trees in the process of perhaps setting up a camping spot or going fishing, inscribed bottom left "Zocchi Inven." and bottom right "Bartolozzi Scul. appo Wagner in Venezia Con Privileg del Ecc". Each engraving is inscribed below image with the name of the month that it depicts. Framed 11.25" x 12.75", sight size 4.75" x 6.25".
