The author details his experiences as a member of the 15th Alabama Infantry, the unit which opposed Chamberlain's 20th Maine at Little Round Top. Houghton also discusses Camp Morton, The prisoner of war camp in Indiana, and the formation of the Ku Klux Klan in Pulaski., Tennessee.
