FINE ENGLISH LADIES WORK STAND - Early Victorian Rosewood Stand of unusual design, the beaded edge coffered hinged top with deep cove edge has delicate Adams style engraved brass and ivory flower and swag inlay with stringing and brackets, opens with heavy brass stop hinges to reveal a mirrored lid interior, open polar interior in three compartments with ebony stringing, locking drawer below in slightly bow sided case, lower edge beaded, wooden sliding 'basket' underhung with matching lower beaded edge, set on scrolled and arched battens supported by four barley twist legs in opposing turns, mounted on brass inlaid scroll trestles having stretcher in opposing twists that meet at center. 29 1/4" tall, 24 1/2" x 16", shrinkage crack and minor loss to top veneer and inlay.
