Description
Two early 20th century 9ct gold compasses, to include one designed as a ships wheel, together with a further compass. One surmount with 9ct gold hallmarks for Birmingham, 1906. Lengths 2 and 2.7cms. Total weight 7.9gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear. One has significantly chipped and cracked glass. The wheel-shape compass surmount is stamped 9ct, and is misshaped. Both compass sections loose in the 9ct gold surmounts. Both compasses believed to be base metal. Both compasses do not point north.
