This piece has a medium amount of grime build up to the surface. There is a faint age craquelure in the paint that is stabilized by a heavy vanish layer. Under black light there is overpainting to wall panels behind the figure and to the right, there is some over painting on the dog's shadow on the rug and on a few rug tassels. This overpainting is not obvious to the naked eye. Unclear if there is additional restoration below the vanish layer. There is some scuffing and paint loss on the edge of this piece where it has been rubbed by the frame. There is a pen tip sized chip to the surface with pigment loss about .5" from the upper right corner. There are a few light surface scratches/scuffs. The most noticeable is 3" line scratch on the table leg, and another .25" long on the hand, these are minor.
