An English Dinner Service, 19th c., gilt scalloped rims with foliate painted borders, white ground motif with gilt meander, comprising 17 dinner plates, 11 soup bowls, 4 vegetable plates, 4 side dishes, 2 serving platters, 2 gravy boats with underplates, 2 tureens (one covered) with underplates, and 9 coffee cups, dinner plate diameter 10 in., largest platter width 21 in. (51 pcs.) Provenance: Collection of William Gordon, Mayor of Savannah, GA (1834-1836) and Grandfather of Juliet Gordon Lowe, founder of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America
