Description
LEONARDO CONTI (1900 - 1945) Reich Health Leader and SS-Obergruppenfuhrer attributed with the killing of a large number of Germans who were of ""unsound mind"" during the T-4 program. A suicide. Rare T.L.S. on Prussian governmental letterhead 2pp. 4to. Berlin Sep. 26 1932 to ""Dr. Rienhardt"" probably Dr. Rolf Rienhardt (1903-1975) delegate in the Reichstag and Head of the NSDAP Press Office. Conti sends a report on the physicians organization and wonders: ""...If a doctor's honor court can prevent an old party comrade from working further for the movement...I don't think it favors the movement if an honor court of a professional organization can decide that an early S.A. leader...can be prevented from working for the movement...The movement is one unit and me as a personality as well...With such a black mark on me as a party member from my comrades if the judgement stands it will be impossible for me to stand up to the Berlin jury whose back-stabbing fight...I have felt since 1919..."" Very good. In 1929 Conti finished organizing the National Socialist Physicians League to coordinate Nazi medical policy and rid the profession of ""Jewish Bolshevism"". He may have faced complaints from this same organization as he infers here.
