Description
HEINRICH HIMMLER (1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremberg. Most unusual and important signed book: ""Runes and Meaningful Symbols"" by Karl Theodore Weigel (Berlin: Alfred Metzner Verlag) 1937 2nd edition. 82pp. large 8vo. paper boards with multiple photographs and printed illustrations. A study of runes and other ancient symbols by SS-Sturmbannfuhrer Weigel who was charged with studying and archiving these symbols considered by the SS to be central to Aryan history and culture. Inscribed on the front flyleaf: ""To my dear niece Irmgard Uncle Heinrich Julfest 1938"". Very good.
