WOLFGANG LUTH WOLFGANG LUTH (1913-1945) German U-boat ace with 46 ""kills"" accidentally shot and killed by a German sentry. Luth was given the last state funeral of the Third Reich the only U-boat commander to be so honored. A scarce volume from his personal library ""Nauticus 1938"" by Adm. A. D. Hansen (Berlin: Mittler & Sohn) 1938. 439pp. 8vo. with 14 maps and 20 drawings plus 16 plates with 30 b/w photos appendix an almanac of the Kriegsmarine with pencil underlinings and a few comments by Luth boldly signed and dated 1938 on the front flyleaf. Sold with a book inscribed to Luth by his brother Christmas 1939. Both very good.
