Description

FELIX KERSTEN PHOTOGRAPHS AND BOOK FELIX KERSTEN (1898-1960) Personal physical therapist of Heinrich Himmler. Kersten used his position to obtain pardons and the release of prisoners and near war's end he arranged a meeting with Himmler and Norbert Masur a member of the Swedish branch of the World Jewish Congress. As a result Himmler agreed to spare the lives of the remaining 60 000 Jews left in Nazi concentration camps days before their liberation by the Allies. Lot of two original wartime photographs each 5"" x 7"" b/w show Kersten with Himmler in Helsinki in 1942 with SS backstamps. Accompanied by Kersten's book: ""The Memoirs of Dr. Felix Kersten"" (New York: Doubleday & Co.) 1947. First edition 300pp. 8vo.. Some scattered foxing spine heavily sunned else very good.
