Description
POST-WAR ISSUED NAZI PASSPORT GIVEN TO A PROBABLE CAMP SURVIVOR An odd piece of ephemera a passport bearing partially blacked-out Nazi insignia issued in Austria on May 30 1945 (three weeks after the war's end) to Kirner Zoltan described as ""Stateless"" and as a farmer born in Budapest in 1900. At the rear of the passport American authorities stamp Zoltan's papers as ""O.K."" on June 16 1945. Accompanied by four Hungarian identity cards and four passports all dated 1939 and earlier. Interesting to note that in his photos in the 1939 documents Zoltan is healthy and clearly well-nourished. In his 1945 passport it is clear the man has been nearly starved.
