A sapphire diamond and cultured pearl bar brooch. The rectangular cushion-shape sapphire, within a rose-cut diamond collet surround, to the similarly-set foliate sides and cultured pearl detail. Length 4.8cms. Weight 6.6gms.

Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The sapphire has a pale blue with typical inclusions visible to the naked-eye, with some abrasion and surface blemishes to facets and facet edges. Cut and setting of rose-cut diamond prevents total carat weight estimation. The diamonds are fairly bright and lively. Small light coloured inclusions can be seen under magnification. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The cultured pearls are well matched with a creamy-white body colour and slight pink overtones, with fair lustre, and some small surface blemishes. Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source.
