Scarce Pennsylvania April 20, 1781 One Shilling Six Pence
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. April 20, 1781. One Shilling Six Pence. Crisp Extremely Fine.
Fr. PA-245. This beautiful note has deep black printed text and designs, four full margins and nice centering upon both its face and back. “Printed by JOHN DUNLAP. 1781” and “To Counterfeit is DEATH” legends are vividly printed upon the bold, fresh reverse. The central watermark reads “PENSYL-VANIA” being in large text within the fresh looking paper. The overall eye appeal is that of near CU with a couple light folds seen on the reverse. A beautiful example of this scarce issue and denomination.
