This a beautiful runner from the Kuba region, located in the Caucasus, dating 1301 Hijra (1884 A. D.). This is a very good example. This black gallery with a pattern of a variety of mid-sized plant, flower and geometric ornaments is embedded into a wealth of smaller ornaments. The red-based border, framed inside and outside by sand-yellow narrower borders, depicts further smaller stylized floral ornaments. Many small flowers and arrows are inserted into the pattern.
The runner is in good condition with smaller repairs. The dimensions are c. 4.87 x 1.66 m. (tm)
