These magnificent candle holders were made by the German silverware manufacturer Otto Wolter (est. 1875). Each features a baluster stem raised on a stepped foot and surmounted by six curved arms with profiled sockets and round drip pans around a central candle. The upper section with the arms can be removed, thus both may be used as a single-light candle holders.
Robbe and Berking took over the company Otto Wolter in 1991 and has continued to manufacture identical candelabras, today the price for a new pair is around 40,000 euros.
The candlesticks are hallmarked on the foot with crown and crescent, ‘925S’, the Otto Wolter manufacturer’s mark and ‘STERLING’. Both are in mint condition with only minimal signs of wear. The feet are filled. The height measures 57.5 cm and the weight is approx. 4.3 kg each. (tfa)
