Yixing
Yixing clay is made in a region near the Chinese city of Yixing in the Jiangsu province and it is typically used to make unglazed tea utensils and other small handicraft items. The clay normally displays a reddish-brown coloration, but color and texture can be modified through the addition of various metal oxides and by regulating the atmosphere in the kiln. Clay with a slight purple tinge is called Yixing Zisha.
Condition: The teapot is in good condition with usual signs of age and wear. A chip on the spout and notches on the edge of the lid are visible. The total height with handle measures 16 cm.
