Sirohi School
In the 17th and 18th centuries Sirohi was a center for miniature painting in Southern Rajasthan. The miniatures of the Sirohi School show influences of the Mewar School and Mughal painting. They are characterized by bold colors, especially bright shades of red. Popular motifs were so-called Ragamala paintings, pictorial interpretations of Indian musical modes.
