Multifunctional secretary in the rare rosewood version

Frattini was a major exponent of the Italian design movement of the 1950s and 1960s, and mainly worked as an interior designer. The secretary, model 804, is still produced today, though not in rosewood. The secretary is a practical piece of furniture as it offers plenty of storage space on both sides. On the front side there are ten large drawers. A writing surface can be pulled out under a roller shutter. A writing section above includes further ten drawers of various sizes. The back can be used as a bookcase with four shelves.

The secretary is in very good condition with only slight signs of wear. Its dimensions are 79 x 100 x 67 cm.

Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004)

Gianfranco Frattini studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Initially, he worked at the office of his master Gio Ponti and then opened his own studio in Milan. From 1954, he worked in Northern Italy with the design company of Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda/Brianza. He collaborated with numerous other companies, including Bernini, Arteluce, Acerbis, Fantoni and Artemide. Works by Frattini are on display at major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. (cko)
