A painted German folk art blanket chest, c.1895. Sometimes called immigrants chest. Made of solid pine painted with wreath and Mrs. Lieber on top, floral baskets on front, and a German phrase is painted on the bottom front. Having original hardware and one broken strap hinge. 19"h x 42"w x 21 1/2"d.

Condition

Split but stable boards, worn paint, broken interior left hinge.
