Description
A mid-eighteenth century silver cream jug in the manner of Paul De Lamerie, the oval form with flared rim, engraved with floral swags to the shell mounted scrolling handle and standing on four paw feet. Hallmarks rubbed. Maximum height measuring 3 inches (7.5 cm), weight 4.9 ozt (154 grams).
Condition
The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Further to this the decoration is heavily rubbed and worn including a crest engraving. Noticeable loss of detail. The feet are all imprinted to the interior. Hallmarks almost completely erased.
