Description
wood, polychrome paint, bull horns, animal hair, cloth, open mouth with visible teeth, eyes with green glass inlay, bull horns attached by leather strips and metal tags, min. dam., cracks, slight traces of abrasion, small missing parts, base;
used at circumcision rites; "Dugn'be" embodies a cattle raised within the village, worn by young men called "cabaro" before their initiation. Aside there are three more types of buffalo masks: "gn'opara" - a cow raised in the bush, "essenie" - the wild bull and "iare" - a zebu bull.
