Description
Jacques Bonnefoy (French, late 18th century) after Louis-Léopold Boilly (French, 1761-1845). "Marche Incroyable", engraving, published in Paris. Engraving depicts a satirical representation of the French middle class in the early 19th century with wealthy upper class and military people mixing in a central group with the lower class, a horse drawn carriage behind group with the wealthy passenger seemingly in distress amidst a cloud of dust. Framed approximately 32.5" x 29.25", sight size 20.25" x 23.75".
