Vincenzo Laera is well-known for his aesthetic sense of composition and light that is influenced by photographers like Helmut Newton. The present portrait shows the model Norman Theuerkorn who is occasionally also active as a rapper and boxer. His face is covered by a head piece, designed by the French artist Guillaume Airiaud.
Condition:
The gelatin silver print is in very good condition. The image measures 49.2 x 35 cm, the paper size is 51.5 x 37 cm.
Vincenzo Laera (b. 1966)
Vincenzo Laera has been working in the fashion and beauty industry since the age of 16. His interest in photography was aroused by his collaborations with fashion photographers like Koto Bolofo (b. 1959). In 1987 he had the possibility to join the photographer’s team of Helmut Newton (1920-2004), before he moved to New York in 1989. Here, he continued to collaborate with a number of famous photographers, including Irving Penn, Bert Stern and Annie Leibovitz. Laera lives and works in Berlin, today. (cbo)
