Switch Key B&M Railroad – Tapered Barrel

Description

An unusual bit on a key that might be assumed to be Boston & Maine. I have never seen this bit before on a Boston & Maine key. Without a maker and with unusual lettering dies, this could be one of the more obscure roads with these initials. A nice tapered barrel.

Some help from a fellow collector on March 30:

I think the key is from the Burlington and Missouri Railroad. I have seen similar examples with the same marking and bit pattern. In fact I have two in my collection.
