These are two exceedingly bright and clean volumes of, “Journal Des Dames et Des Modes.” With 184 pochoir and matching black-and-white state, artists Barbier, Brunelleschi, Iribe, Vallée, Wegener, Bakst and Simeon present exquisite designs for umbrellas, hats, rings and other jewelry, enameled objects, fans, porcelain and gloves. Additionally, there are two unnumbered 'primes'.
Both volumes are in octavo, with minor damage on the first plate La Choix Difficile, where the white coloring is oxidized. Both volumes are loose, as issued, in the original publisher’s wrappers. Both are very bright and clean.
