This chief chair in the form of a European chair has a frame made ??of wood. The rest is shod on the front and rear with an ornate brass sheet. At the two upper ends of the back, turret-shaped ornaments are attached. The seat is covered with leather and supported at the bottom with a metal grid. All chair legs and the cross bars are decorated with three rows of round head nails and protruding, conical ‘caps’ made ??of brass. ‘A Sipim’, as the chair is called, means ‘I am steadfast’ in the Akan peoples.



The chair is in very good condition with minimal signs of age and wear. The leather cover is cracked on the side. The overall dimensions are 66 x 43 x 48 cm (height x width x depth). (asi)
