Ruud van Empel’s digital color photographs from the series ‘Study for Women 24’ depict the woman as a protagonist in an atmospheric environment . With a focus on a maximum attention to details, the women become a sort of prototypes that seem to be embedded in their own dream world. The present work is number 5 from the above-mentioned series.
Condition:
The work is in very good condition with only minimal wear marks. The overall dimensions, framed, are 66 x 78 cm, the cut-out of the matted prints is 43.5 x 56.5 cm.
Ruud van Empel (b. 1958)
The Dutch photo artist Ruud van Empel studied graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts Sint Joost, Breda . After a career as a designer and theater decorator, he created video works and especially photographs. In 2005, an exhibition appearance of the TZR Galerie Kai Brückner in New York helped him to the international breakthrough. In addition to exhibitions in his main galleries - TZR Galerie Kai Brückner until 2010, and Stux Gallery in New York as well as Flatland Gallery in Utrecht to this day - van Empel had numerous solo exhibitions, for example at the Kunstverein Halle and the Museum of Groningen. Ruud van Empel lives and works in Amsterdam. (cko)
