This chair was designed and manufactured in Vienna by D. G. Fischel Söhne. The design with its classical simplicity is reminiscent of Michael Thonet’s coffeehouse chairs. The concave curved backrest with its seven spindles and the rattan covered seat lure into lingering here and invite to the coffeehouse atmosphere of early 20th century Vienna.



The armchair shows signs of age and wear. In places small blemishes are visible as well as flash rust on the metal pars and traces of worm infestation (inactive). The seat frame bears a newly glue-laminated breakage. The dimensions of the chair are 80 x 43 x 53 cm, while the seat height measures 47 cm. (nlu)
