Description
Found in western Turkey near Ephesus, ca 100 to 200 CE. Beautiful white marble section of a sarcophagus or stelae, inscribed in Latin with an "A" and a "C". Beautiful patina! Size: 4"L x 4-1/2"W x 1-1/4"H.
Provenance: Ex-Collection of William Dale. Mr. Dale was a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's and acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
