Alfred Dubucand (1828-1894)
The Paris-born sculptor studied there with Justin-Marie Lequien and Antoine-Louis Barye. From 1867 to 1883 he exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon. He created mainly small-scale animal bronzes, depicting mostly dogs, horses or game as well as portrait busts and scenes with camel-riding Arabs. Alfred Dubucand is one of the representatives of the romantic realism. (fea)
