Porcelain with underglaze-blue, China, presumably 1st half 20th cent.
Four-character-mark Chenghua nian zhi.
With lively decoration of six fiery dragons; raised on a foot decorated all around with tendrils of xiangcao; the body divided by ridges into six sections merging to a curved neck with a flared mouth rim; the dragons are vertically ascending in pairs from billowing waves; they are painted in alternating dark hues and present five claws, wrathful heads and waving barbells. The vase-neck shows a floral pattern. The bottom with Ming age four-character-mark Chenghua nian zhi. HEIGHT 26,7 CM
