Description
Extremely Fine and Important Vitrine signed by Boudet 43 Blvd des Capucines Paris. Mounted in gilt bronze, with the lower section centered by a beautiful Verni Martin Cartouche expertly painted with a love scene. The sides are decorated with fine Marquetry inlay work framed by a cartouche of finely cast gilt bronze. The vitrine is fitted with one glass shelves for display, the lower section serves as a storage space. It is possible that this example is in fact Linke as the firm of Boudet was both a retailer and a maker of fine pieces in different mediums. In any case they associated with the very finestMakers of the day Linke being one of them. Often the maker wouldrefrain from stamping the piece deferring to the retailer. The understanding was that while Boudet may or may not have actually made the piece you could rest assured that it was made by the best. Boudet is considered to be a retailer /maker of Importance and received many awards. HEIGHT. 5 ft. 6.6 in. (169 cm)
