Note: The plaster model of this sculpture was shown at the 1902 Paris Salon, where it was purchased for the Marseille Musee des Beaux-Arts. Overall good condition. General marks, scratches and rubbed wear commensurate with age. Scattered spots of white house paint to base and verso. Scattered spots of verdigris. One .75'' x .125'' and one .25'' x .25'' section of crack-fill to verso of angel's left wing, likely executed at time of casting; further patches of fill to Jacob's left arm. Break and repair to lower 3.25'' section of angel's right wing and a break and repair to angel's arm at shoulder.
