Civil War era six shot double action .44 percussion revolver, 8" barrel; Serial #5401 stamped on cylinder, ball set lever, frame, hammer rest, and the shank; frame roll stamped "Starr.Arms.Co. New.York" on left side and"Starr's Patent Jan. 15, 1856." on right side; walnut grip bears inspector cartouches on both sides; inspector's stamp "W" on left side of barrel near frame; with leather holster, marked on back of belt loop "E. Gaylord / Chicopee / Mass"; initials "R J B" cut in front side----dings to grip and frame, spots of pitting to frame above cylinder, double action in working condition, needs cleaning; holster missing some stitching and securement strap, wear and cracks to leather
