Description
Early 20th century, a near pair, each with a circular plate centering the shaped lacquered mahogany surround with carved and pierced polychrome and gilt foliate decoration, the upper edge flanked by groups of three applied apples, 2 pieces, each: 44'' H x 39'' W x 4.5'' D, est: $800/1200

Condition
Each in overall good condition, with general marks, scratches, rubbed wear to gilding, shrinkage cracks and separation at joints commensurate with age. Each with breaks to pierced foliate elements. Scattered minor chips and losses to paint. One with an approximately 2'' x .25'' loss to lower right leaf; the other with a 2.5'' x 2'' area of deteriorated finish to bottom left corner.
