Description
Pitcher, decorated by Matt A. Daly, with standard glaze and having branches with leaves and nuts on a ground in shades of yellow, green and brown, marks include impressed Rookwood flame logo indicating date 1892, shape #495B, signed with artist's incised monogram "MAD", approximate height 8 1/2", diameter 7", and a ewer, decorated by Mary L. Perkins, having standard glaze and branches with leaves and berries, marks include impressed Rookwood flame logo indicating date 1893, shape #657 C, W (for white clay), signed with artist's incised monogram, approximate height 8 7/8".
Condition
Both pieces have been professionally restored, the pitcher has drips of residue from the repair and the restoration to the spout is poor; the ewer has surface scratches and residue.
