Description
Both tankard form, one decorated by Harriet E. Wilcox, having standard glaze with ears of corn on a ground in shades of yellow, green, orange and brown, marks include impressed Rookwood flame logo indicating date 1898, shape #564 D, signed with artist's incised monogram "H.E.W.", approximate height 8 7/8", diameter at base 4", and the other decorated by Kataro Shirayamadani, having standard glaze with pink geraniums on the front, marks include impressed Rookwood flame logo indicating date 1890, no shape #, W (for white clay), signed with artist's incised Japanese cipher, approximate height 8 3/4"..
Condition
Pitcher with corn has a professional restoration to handle and area where handle is attached to the pitcher, chip on rim near spout measuring approximately 1/8" with a 1/8" hairline crack descending into the interior, surfaces scratches
