Description
HIROSHIMA BLAST-MELTED CRAB SCULPTURE
An evocative relic from the August 6, 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima, a 5" wide metal crab which clearly show heat damage from the blast. The surface of the crab's hind legs, where the metal is thinnest, has bubbled from the heat and the thinnest parts of the front pincers are broken, revealing what appears to have been superheated metal within. The entire piece has been scorched and burned. This rare item has been consigned to us by a Japanese dealer/collector, the only individual who has provided us with any such blast-related relics in the past and whose items we fully guarantee.
