1st-20th century AD. A mixed group of detector finds in a wooden felt-lined canteen including: a Roman bow brooch; medieval and later buckles; an iron key; rumbler bells; a late Saxon or Norman prick spur fragment; thimbles; military and other badges; a harness buckle; pistol balls; a quantity of mainly pre-decimal British coinage and some foreign issues. 3.4 kg, case: 35 x 29.5cm (13 3/4 x 11 3/4"). Property of a Hampshire gentleman; by inheritance 1970s. [No Reserve]
