Middle East, Iran, Luristan culture, ca. late 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. Large bronze axe head with long cutting blade flaring downward, tapering to cylindrical shaft with thirteen conical butt spikes. Beautiful green patina! 5 1/4"H (13.25 cm) x 4-3/4"W (12 cm).
Provenance: Ex-private A. Green collection, UK; Ex-private David Kennedy collection, acquired at London Art Market in late 1980's.
